Milestones

JAP_4034-Edit-4My precious “little little man” is five months old today. Truly where does the time go? The milestones seem to be occurring at a rapid speed these days and it also almost goes without saying that yes, I am sad.

Griffin has been eating cereal for the last month, but on Saturday he had his first taste of something more….green beans. Yesterday he decided he likes them! He opened his mouth wide today for carrots!

He can sit up for a few seconds before he starts to fall over. And although he has not rolled over yet, he is really close to achieving this from front to back and back to front.

He can stand on his legs for what seems like forever. He may have thunder thighs, but there is plenty of muscle buried in those chunky legs to support himself for quite sometime!

He loves to grab at things with his most recent curiosity being our face!

Because Griffin is in the 90th percentile for his age he has outgrown the infant carrier faster than most babies! NOT FAIR! This weekend his baby car seat was replaced with the exact same car seat Nolan owns. Very sad and unbelievable I say!

JAP_4028-Edit-Edit-2He now has quite a repertoire of activities to occupy his day. From the exersaucer, activity gym, Sing Along Stage, steering wheel, books, etc. this is one busy little baby!

He now will sit upright in his stroller just like the big kids!

He loves to carry on what he thinks is a conversation with you. He loves to laugh, talk, coo, and his latest noise being a high pitched (at times ear piercing) squeal!

Griffin is significantly more laid back and easy going than Nolan was as an infant (blame colic for that!) and it has been so much fun enjoying Griffin in a way we were not able to with Nolan. As much as I do not like (as you all know) that Griffin is growing and changing, at the same time, I love watching him learn, explore, and soak in the world around him. It is one of the greatest gifts as a parent to be a witness to that. Happy, happy five months to my little little man!
