Nolan’s Day with the Dinosaurs

JAP_1748Nolan and I spent the day at the Heard museum’s Dinosaurs Alive exhibit with Nolan’s friend Anthony and his dad. The Heard has placed animatronic dinosaurs all over the property, and you follow the dinosaur trail to find each of the dinosaurs along the way. Nolan, Anthony, and Anthony’s cousin Joe all had a great time.

As it was the guy’s version of a playdate, it involved walking sticks, homemade bows and arrows, mistaking a black wasp for a harmless flying beetle, and eating lunch without napkins or utensils. We even got cocky and took the boys on a hike through the trails that had been washed or blown away due to severe weather. This portion of the day was deemed “adventure jungle” by Nolan and Anthony. During the “adventure jungle” trek, Nolan continually announced that we were lost, but we shouldn’t worry because he would help us “find our way to California”.

All in all, it was a really fun day, and I’m glad Nolan got to have some “Griffin-free” time. I know he enjoyed it too.

Here are a few pictures from the day.
