gran and poppy

This weekend we were in Hot Springs visiting James’ family. On Sunday afternoon we went for a boat ride. “Poppy” let Nolan drive the boat by himself for a bit and he was thrilled!! We may be in trouble once Nolan turns sixteen. He definitely loves the speed!

This was Griffin’s first boat ride, and although he despised the life jacket, I think he enjoyed the ride too!

James and I just watched an entire episode of one of our new favorite shows, Mad Men, in the middle of the day in complete peace and quiet. The reason why? Because BOTH of our boys are asleep. That’s right! Now it is not that surprising that Griffin is asleep, but for Nolan to be asleep is an absolute miracle. (I think his grandparents playing with him all day yesterday might have had something to do with it.) Nolan has had probably had less than five naps since he turned two years old. This was such a treat. The sad part is that I have to go wake Nolan up because this hour long nap already means about two extra hours awake tonight now! Oh well. It was SOOOO worth it.

Another day down. Nolan finally got to spend some time with Griffin today, and we were all impressed with how he did. He was able to hold Griffin (with help, of course) and let us know anytime the baby cried. All in all, a much better day than yesterday.
