The everyday adventures of Nolan and Griffin

Prescott Thankful Turkey

I love traditions particiularly at the holidays and this year we implemented a new one. The Thankful Turkey. For the last couple of weeks James, Nolan, Griffin and I have added feathers (almost) daily with a word of something we are thankful for on it. I have loved to hear what the boys are thankful for. It has led to many great discussions with the boys about what it means to be thankful,  all the different types of things we should be thankful for, how many others live with so much less, and the importance of reflecting and appreciating all we have.

The first feather Nolan wrote said he was thankful for was “Freedom” and Griffin said “God.”  I told James we must not be doing that bad of a job as parents!

Our turkey may have started without any feathers, but now we are reminded of all the things we are truly thankful for. In the middle of the hustle and bustle of our lives, it is very important to stop and remember what all we truly have.

Thanksgiving FUN!!

This Thanksgiving we headed to Broken Bow, Oklahoma for the holidays with my Dad’s family.  We had such a great time! Roasting marshmallows, hot tub, dice games, making Christmas ornaments, cooking and eating, walks, wine tasting for my mom, aunt, and so much more!  It was a memorable time!

HERE are the pictures from the week.

Nolan’s Finger Food Feast

Just before Thanksgiving, we attended the first of what I’m sure will be many, many school “productions” for Nolan. Nolan’s school held a Thanksgiving “Finger Food Feast” that included 3 songs performed by all of the 3-year old classes. It was, of course, adorable (for us at least, YMMV).

The audio and video quality aren’t too great because, well, they are three year olds after all, and none of them sang particularly loudly. Also, I’m standing on a chair because a) I’m short; and b) Every third person had a video camera held way up high on a tripod. (Note to self: Obtain very large tripod.)

Anyway, here’s Nolan’s Finger Food Feast!
